Households must prepare for electricity hikes

With Eskom's proposed rapid price increase expected next year private households must prepare for higher electricity bills. Electricity that costs 60c/KWh now is expected to cost R 1,60 by 2012 . That means an electricity bill of now R 800.00 will be nearly R 2,160.00 in 3 years. Eskom has asked to increase the cost of electricity by 45% a year for three years after raising it 33% this year.
